About Us
The Link Secondary
School is a non-maintained co-educational special school which provides
education for 48 children, aged between 11 - 19. There is also a Link
Primary School and the two schools maintain close liaison. Both schools
are approved by the DfES and children are referred to the schools by
Local Education Authorities.
The Link welcomes
children who by initial assessment may reasonably be expected to respond
to an open, caring environment, and would be experiencing
a) speech,
language and social communication difficulties:
b) learning
difficulties
They may also have
emotional problems related to their learning difficulties.
The school is
committed to equal opportunities. Close attention to each child's needs
is made possible by an excellent staff/pupil ratio (1:5), established
testing and assessment procedures, comprehensive curricular guidelines
and regular reviews.
The school
building is small and friendly. A new teaching block was completed in
2003 with 6 classrooms which are networked with interactive whiteboards,
computers and furnished to a high standard. There are also specialist
rooms for art, French, music, ICT, science, craft and home economics.
There is a library and a well equipped hall for gymnastics and drama. |

key strength of the school.”
